VBS Cuties

VBS has started. Phelps and Watkins were excited, dressed, and ready to go to join in the fun at "Crocodile Dock"! Although, things quickly went down hill when Watkins realized his momma was not helping with his class, but in games for the big kids. I am talking a full out fit - kicking, screaming, and rolling around on the floor! Daddy couldn't even get him to quit, but when he calmed down - Phelps reported, "It was fun and Watkins liked it." They are very excited about going again tomorrow - they have already picked out their clothes.

Other notes -

1. We are leaving for the beach on Tuesday! I love going because Jeremiah actually sits still and relaxes. It is fabulous! Beach here we come!
2. Lawson Joy and Katherine went to the beach on Friday, and we can't wait to see them!
3. Our babies turn 4 on Tuesday! I am sad that they are getting so big. Where does the time go??
4. We have lots of errands to run and stuff to do tomorrow. (van serviced, van cleaned, blood work at hospital, get tag, pack, grocery store, and the list goes on and on.......)

Want to see our new "TICKS"????

Well - our babies have completed a week of swimming lessons. I would not say they are swimming like fish by all means, but they have learned lots of new "ticks". (as Phleps calls them)
This is our conversation today coming home from the pool -
you also need to know that the big girls headed to the beach today with their Grandy and Daddio and we will be joining them on Tuesday.
Our Conversation -
Phelps: Mom, Where are Lawson Joy and Katherine? (we have been over this again and again)
Mom: They are at the beach, remember.
Phelps: We are going to go and get them, right?
Mom: Yes, on Tuesday we are going to the beach to get them.
Phelps: Can we stay a little while when we get there? I want to show Grandy, Daddio and everybody my new "ticks" in my kini (bikini).
Mom: Of course, sweetie. We are going to stay for 5 days.
Phelps: They will be proud and clap at me. Right, Wat? (Watkins)
There is no doubt Watkins did get the best behaved and willingness award at swimming lessons.
He pretty much did whatever Mr. Eric asked him to.
Check him out making BIG splashes!
Phelps on the other hand made it in the pool 2 of the 4 days of lessons. Here she is explaining why she just can't get in today.
Watkins just kicking away. All by himself!
Phelps did refuse to swim half of the days, but she did manage to learn some new "ticks". I guess she learned from watching???
Here is Miss Priss with floaties and her new "bobbles" on her head.
I guess that is how they think they are worn.
Little Miss can swim with these floaties, which she refused to do until yesterday. She learned to kick successfully, and upon lots of pushing she can swim under water for about 5 feet. I am very proud!
Here is a funny picture of her jumping to me.
What better than to hang out with your side kick in the pool?
Our two babies having fun in the pool.........
Watkins is very PROUD of himself!
And so is his Phelps!

Girls vs. Boys and Summer Fun!

We all headed over to Polly's house for a little fun in her pool with some of our best buddies!
Everyone was in a good mood - the kids LOVE the pool with friends and what better for mom then a little adult converstation with some of her closest girl friends. Most all the kids are at the age where they entertain themselves.
Lawson Joy not to old yet to show off her pool tricks to anyone who would watch.
Kellen and Watkins hanging out telling each other the about the latest happenings.
The plot to get the boys starts with sweet Katherine.
Notice the water gun hiden under the water.
The Shoot Out Begins!
Watch out boys they have you cornered!
Get out of the pool and run boys!
The girls still winning, but the boys had no defense. (no more water guns available)
So they decide to have a little coming together of the minds, with a little popcorn break.
Of course the Watkins could not leave his side kick out, so he allowed Phelps to join the boys team. I am sure they even let her be in charge!
Easton said, "My muscles are big, and we are going to get those big girls next time."
Baby Henry was not big enough to get in the "Boy/Girl War", but all us moms had a great time entertaining him and talking about just how cute this little man is.
Baby Henry and His Hot Mama - Laura
Polly and Baby Taze enjoying a Cold Stone milkshake. Ummm, GOOD!
Happy, Happy Birthday Polly! We hope your day was great.
Thanks for having the gang over. We had a blast!!
Summer has just begun so we are hoping for many, many more fun days in sun!

Our Daddy WON!!

Yesterday, we told you to
and you did!
Our daddy won, and we are so proud of him!
Here is the family rallying those voters in and doing a little persuading so that we are sure they make the right choice.
The answer is no - we did not have the children out there all day, because it was hot! Of course, we had them out there during peak voting hours. (7-8:30 am and 5-7 pm)
Who could say no to this cutie? The poll workers and firemen were fabulous once again!
Thank you for letting us use your bathroom to many times to count and letting Watkins check out the firetruck! He loved it!
The day was long and did I say HOT? Thanks for holding signs Jeremy, Ashleigh, and Mr.Bill.
You are the best!!!
The day was LONG and very nerve racking, but in the end we were all ECSTATIC!!
The look of releif and excitement, upon hearing the news that he will be the next Alderman of Ward 5.

Fun times and good friends at Barrister's!
We had a great time laughing, singing, and dancing to the tunes from "Jeff and Jeff"!
Thank you to all our supporters, you made this happen and we deeply appreciate all your help.
I believe Starkville made some great decisions on June 2nd, and therefore we have a great group headed to City Hall to help lead Starkville to get even better!
Now to the RELAXING rest of the summer!!

The Results Are.....

Today in the News ............

From the "Starkville Daily News"

In Ward 5, Democrat Jeremiah Dumas collected 352 votes to Republican Mike Allen’s 227. Dumas said he was glad the election was over. “I’m looking forward to tomorrow,” he said. “It was great to run against Mike and Scott; both of them are class acts.” Allen said he ran a clean campaign and did what he needed to do. “You probably haven’t seen the end of me either,” Allen said, adding that he liked to be constructively involved in city affairs.

From the "Commercial Dispatch"

Ward 5
In Ward 5, Democrat Jeremiah Dumas defeated Republican Mike Allen, 352-227. Dumas, who is one of the founders of Starkville Community Market, is pleased with the way the city is heading.
“I’m excited about it,” Dumas said. “With the board that’s in place and that mayor that’s in place, I think we have some good things happening for the city of Starkville right now. I want to keep moving Starkville forward in a positive direction.”

Swim like a fish or not?

We headed to the pool yesterday afternoon upon our return from Ludlow (minus KD), while daddy played some golf. It was a little crowded, but only the momma noticed - it did not phase the kids at all. I have really been hoping this would be the summer for swimming to click with the babies, after all the big sisters got it down their 4 year old summer. The babies are signed up for lessons, and they will begin this week. The teacher promised we would be "swimming like fish" by the end of the week. I guess we will see. What do you think?
Lawson Joy and Phelps
Phelps loves the water in her float. Do not ask or suggest to remove it for any reason.
"It is dangerous!" quote from Phelps. I am sure I have said this to her many times, but now I need her to forget I did.
I am not sure that teacher knows what he is getting himself into, but if she comes out still just a floater that is okay because she sure is a cutie doing it!
I think that maybe we might get one little fish though, check out his new trick.
Thanks to Ms. Paige for teaching him!
Ready........
Set.....
Go - Under the water!
Yes, he learned that in one afternoon.
So, the question is - Will have one or two fish?
Update to come soon.
We even had time to play on the playground, while daddy finished up his golf game.
Sweet pics!
News report from Watkins - "The slide is real fast! Faster, faster!"
Fun in the "store".
"Up real high, momma!"
Our sweet baby girl and
our sweet baby boy.
